Project Description
The BRPM Phase 3 project is providing further replacement for Merensky production at the North shaft complex, through the extension of the existing decline from level 11 to level 15 at the mine boundary.
At steady state, the project will contribute 70 000 t/y of platinum ounces.

R1.17-billion.
Duration
The project is scheduled for completion in the third quarter of 2017.
Latest Developments
RBPlats reports that, at the end of June, the project had progressed to 49% completion against a planned completion of 44%.
Development is 633 m ahead of schedule, with 5 004 m completed against a planned 4 371 m.

At the end of June this year, the project was 66 days ahead of schedule.
Project completion is forecast at two months ahead of schedule in 2017.
Against a R603-million budget project expenditure to date is at R489-million, with an estimated cost at completion of R1.17-billion representing a saving of R102-million.
