Company Annopuncement - ASSA ABLOY, global specialist in the manufacture and supply of word-class secure, safe and convenient door opening solutions for more than 20 years, is opening its heart to charity by supporting the CEO SleepOut™ 2015 challenge. The challenge calls for ’business leaders to sleep on the street for one night to raise both awareness and funds, and bring hope and a home to South Africa’s most vulnerable children.’ John Middleton, Market Region Manager for ASSA ABLOY Africa & Middle East, will brave the cold on Thursday night, 18th June, to raise R150 000 which will go towards helping the children at Girls and Boys Town.

“It is an honour to donate the R100 000 to earn the privilege to participate in the CEO SleepOut™ and we are asking for your help in raising the remaining R50 000 for this most worthy cause,” says John. ’Girls and Boys Town creates opportunities for the youth to grow and develop into responsible citizens so that they are able to contribute to family and community life in the spirit of peace, dignity, tolerance, equality and solidarity with others.’ ”I am sleeping out to affirm ASSA ABLOY’s commitment to South Africa’s youth who are the future leaders of this country. The responsibility rests with all of us to help our youth by unlocking doors to great opportunities and in so doing, secure a bright future for all citizens of this beautiful country,”  concludes John.

ASSA ABLOY takes social responsibility very seriously and supports various local charities with the sponsorship of products for educations, shelters, HIV/Aids villages, previously disadvantaged homes and projects which require locking products to provide a safe, secure and supportive environment to those in need.
