Proudly South-African abrasive manufacturing company Grinding Techniques is assisting the Essential Services Industry by any means necessary during this time of national lockdown.

“With over a million people infected with COVID-19 worldwide, the reality of this pandemic is becoming more real every minute of every day. We all have a part to play in combatting this virus and the only way to succeed, is to work together and adhere to safety and health regulations as set out by government. Our country is going through unprecedented times and this certainly calls for extraordinary measures. The time for working together is NOW” said Dewald Bodenstein, Commercial Manager of Grinding Techniques.

“In a time of crisis when we are all presented with challenges and uncertainty, we have to look at the immediate resources available to keep the wheels turning however that may be. With the current situation, our Essential Services Industry not only needs support but competent suppliers to assist them, in order to provide the high level of service we are all in need of “.

Grinding Techniques have been operating since 1981, manufacturing abrasive products and providing customised solutions to the Industry. With an extensive range of high-quality cut-off and grinding wheels, specialised industrial diamond tools as well as a wide range of surface finishing tools, both their Superflex and Andor product offers are becoming well-known household brands in the industry.

Being part of the global abrasive supplier Tyrolit since 2014, they are now able to offer an even more extensive range of products in the market.

Their Business Continuity Management Plan that has taken effect since the start of the 21 – day lockdown period as imposed by President Cyril Ramaphosa, allow for continuous supply on demand to the Essential Services sector.

“Although we are not running at full capacity – adhering to the guidelines of being a supportive supplier in this time, we can confirm that we are available and ready to assist in the supply of abrasive products to the various industries providing Essential Services” said Dewald.

He continued by saying that the fluctuating Rand/Dollar/Euro exchange rate is currently not in favour of suppliers importing abrasive requirements nor does the extended lead times assist either.

Supporting local manufacturing partners will definitely aid in the recovery of the economy during the months after the COVID-19 lockdown, adds Dewald.
