Azerbaijan-focused Anglo Asian Mining’s production profile is set to change significantly in 2023 as copper becomes a greater proportion of its production.

The miner is targeting 4 100 t to 4 300 t of copper and 30 000 oz to 32 000 oz of gold output in 2023. Copper production is forecast to increase by between 63% and 71% and gold production is set to decrease by between 26% and 30%.

“2023 is a pivotal year for Anglo Asian as it begins its transition to achieve significant copper production with the opening of the new Gilar and Zafar mines and the delivery of the increased capacity of the flotation plant,” Anglo Asian said.

The company will announce a medium-term growth strategy before the end of next month.
