JOHANNESBURG (miningweekly.com) – JSE-listed Merafe Resources’ attributable ferrochrome production from the Glencore Merafe Chrome Venture, in Rustenburg, decreased by 7% year-on-year in the first quarter ended March 31.

This decrease was as a result of downtime for additional maintenance requirements at the Lion and Rustenburg ferrochrome plants, the company noted on Friday.

Attributable ferrochrome production for the first quarter was 105 000 t, compared with 113 000 t in the first quarter of 2017.
