PERTH (miningweekly.com) – ASX-listed KGL Resources has appointed Nicholas Spencer as CEO to lead the development of the Jervois copper project, in the Northern Territory.

Spencer has over 30 years of mining experience and has a track record of successfully developing and operating mining projects. He has worked in Australia as well as with multinational corporations in the UK, Middle East, Asia and India.

Most recently, he was MD of India-based Galaxy Gold Mines.

“We have searched extensively for an appropriately qualified CEO and are delighted that Spencer is joining the company. His broad experience in relation to exploration, mine development, commercial negotiations and investment management will be instrumental in driving development of the Jervois copper project and in guiding the Jervois team,” said executive chairperson Denis Wood.

Meanwhile, KGL has also announced the appointment of Chris Dippenaar as CFO, following the resignation of Any Treble.

Dippenaar is a fellow chartered management accountant and fellow certified practicing accountant with extensive international experience. He has held executive and senior commercial and finance leadership roles in a number of mining companies, including BHP, Anglo American and Harmony Gold.
