Company Announcement - Minetec, a division of Codan Limited, today announced that Alex Gardiner has been appointed General Manager of Minetec RSA Pty Ltd. “Alex has a track record of success in the mining and exploration sectors, which makes him a great addition to the Minetec team,” said Rory Linehan, Minetec’s Executive General Manager. “I believe that with Alex leading our new subsidiary in Johannesburg, Minetec is now perfectly positioned to become the preferred provider of safety and productivity solutions to the mining sector in Africa. Alex will build a core team of Minetec technical expertise in order to serve the local client base more effectively.”

More recently Alex held a number of roles within acQuire Technology Solutions, the leading Geoscientific Information Management System provider, across Europe, the U.S. and Africa. Commenting on his appointment, Dr. Gardiner said: “I am extremely excited about this opportunity to lead Minetec’s business in South Africa and to contribute to the Company’s growth. Minetec has a unique offering that provides both safety and productivity solutions from a common technology platform. Minetec’s proven ability to track assets with high precision in underground and open pit mines enables it to deliver proximity detection, collision avoidance, tracking and mine management capabilities – all key for the African mining sector, and I look forward to being part of the successful deployment of the Minetec Unified Platform throughout the region.”
