PERTH (miningweekly.com) – Diversified major Rio Tinto has awarded a A$7.3-million contract to project house Viento Group to construct and commission a tailings storage facility at the waste fines facility at the Hope Downs 4 mine, in the Pilbara.

The scope of the work would include the bulk and detailed earthworks of the embankment lift for the waste fines storage facility.

The contract would start in June, and was expected to run for a period of five months.

The Hope Downs 4 iron-ore project has a capacity of 15-million tonnes a year.
