PERTH (miningweekly.com) – Two workers are missing at metal miner MMG’s Dugald River zinc mine, in Queensland, following an incident, which is reported to be a ground collapse.

MMG said in a statement that two Barminco employees remained unaccounted for following the incident, adding that the site’s response team had been activated and was working closely with Barminco and authorities.

Operations at the mine have been halted while the search is under way.

Barminco owner Perenti on Wednesday confirmed the incident at the underground mine.
