The project is a consolidation of the Frischgewaagt, Hartbeesfontein and Doornrivier properties, in Limpopo, South Africa.

Diamond exploration and project development company Botswana Diamonds (BOD).

Project Description
Thorny River comprises the eastern extension of the kimberlite dyke and/or pipe systems on which the Klipspringer and Marsfontein mines are located, both of which have been economically mined.

The project has a modelled in situ grade range of 46 carats per hundred tonnes (cpht) to 74 cpht, and a diamond value range of $120/ct to $220/ct.

Latest Developments
The Thorny River project has progressed to the mining application stage.

It has applied for mining permits, which it expects will be issued by mid-2023.

BOD is working through development options on the discovery. It has a proposal from a contractor that will provide all mining and processing equipment in return for a percentage interest. This is being evaluated and considered as a potential viable option.

Mining is expected to begin in the first quarter of 2023 on the Marsfontein waste dumps.
