Project Description
Thorny River comprises the eastern extension of the kimberlite dyke and/or pipe systems on which the Klipspringer and Marsfontein mines are located, both of which have been economically mined.

The project has a modelled in situ grade range of 46 carats per hundred tonnes (cpht) to 74 cpht and a diamond value range from $120/ct to $220/ct.

Latest Developments
Botswana Diamonds has completed a preliminary kimberlite assessment on the Thorny River prospect, with the projected kimberlite volume now considerably higher than previous estimates, at about two-million tonnes.

An economic study of mining options has been initiated. No assessment of potential diamond grade has been made at this stage.

Elsewhere on the Thorny River property, four potential blow targets have been identified; therefore, there is potential to further increase kimberlite volume.

Key Contracts, Suppliers and Consultants
None stated.
