JOHANNESBURG (miningweekly.com) - Gold exploration and development company Goliath Gold said on Friday that acting CEO Dr Richard Stewart would head up the Gold One subsidiary for an initial one-year period, effective January 1.

The former Gold One International executive VP for technical services had been leading the company in an acting position since the exit of CEO and executive director Neal Froneman in December.

Further, independent nonexecutive director Piet Nel would take up the position of chairperson at the company’s annual general meeting (AGM) on April 30, as current chairperson and nonexecutive director Mark Wheatley retires.

Jerry Vilakazi would remain as an independent nonexecutive director, while nonexecutive deputy chairperson and lead independent director Keith Rayner would be appointed as an independent nonexecutive director.

Christopher Chadwick would remain in his position of CFO following the AGM.
