South African Photovoltaic Industry Association (SAPVIA) CEO Dr Rethabile Melamu has been appointed as a board member of the international solar power industry organisation the Global Solar Council.

She will serve a two-year term of office with the council.

The Global Solar Council board includes associations representing emerging and mature markets, as well as corporates from across the global solar supply chain. The board members hail from every continent, Melamu points out.

The Global Solar Council is the voice of the world’s solar energy industry on the global stage, and is a nonprofit body based in Washington DC and represents national, regional and international associations, as well as leading solar sector corporations.
