JOHANNESBURG (miningweekly.com) – Platinum miner Anglo American Platinum (Amplats) expects its headline earnings and headline earnings per share (HEPS) for the six months to June 30, to climb by at least R31-million, or 12c a share, owing to an improvement in operational performance, following the five-month strike in the first half of 2014.

Amplats had reported headline earnings of R157-million and HEPS of 60c for the six months ended June 2014.

Basic earnings and basic earnings per share (BEPS) were also expected to increase by R86-million, or 33c apiece, on the earnings of R429-million and BEPS of 164c reported in the first half of last year.
