The Nunavut Planning Commission has issued approved licences for the Coppermine project, marking a major step in the permitting process, White Cliff Minerals reported on Monday.

The ASX-listed company said that it would now be able to appoint contractors for 2024 exploration initiatives and complete the logistics planning phase.

White Cliff will take up where state, public and private-sponsored historical exploration previously identified dozens of outcropping occurrences of copper and silver mineralisation, as well as non-Joint Ore Reserve Committee-compliant mineral estimates along more than a 100-km-long structural trend.

White Cliff stated that it was in negotiations with several Canada-based service providers for various work programmes on what would be the first systematic exploration at this project area in decades.

The company would base its logistical hub in Kugluktuk.

Once finalised, these work programmes will run in close collaboration with planned work at Radium Point, the company’s recently acquired district scale uranium project.
