JOHANNESBURG (miningweekly.com) – Platinum miner Lonmin has appointed Barrie van der Merwe to succeed outgoing CFO Simon Scott from May 17.

Van der Merwe is a chartered accountant and holds a BCom (Hons) degree in accounting from the University of Pretoria.

He worked as CFO of Debswana Diamond Company between 2012 and 2015. Prior to that, he held several senior financial management positions with Anglo American and Anglo American Platinum between 2002 and 2012.
