Aim-listed Kibo Energy has appointed Christiaan Schutte executive director, with responsibility for capital projects.

Schutte has extensive and varied experience in the energy development field. He worked for South African State-owned power utility Eskom for almost three decades, with the last nine years at executive management level.

His experience extends to all aspects of power station design, construction, commissioning and operations, as well as power project development.

Kibo is at a critical point in its development as it moves toward advanced development and commissioning of its flagship African and UK energy projects, with power purchase agreements totalling between 350 MW and 400 MW.

The company’s Mozambique projects are expected to be completed before the end of the year.
