It’s crystal clear that a just transition to a climate-positive future is the only route to take

Being climate unfriendly will soon be as socially unacceptable as smoking in public and wearing fur, says Discovery CE Adrian Gore. Companies that fail to move to renewable sources of energy, power and heat will be lucky to see out 2030, warns Gen-I chairperson Dr Robert Golob.

A new wave of environmental, social and governance investing is renewables and recycling focused, say portfolio investors. Good work is being done and you’ll see huge developments in renewables and energy-related technological progress, predicts African Rainbow Minerals chairperson Patrice Motsepe.

Significant climate-positive capital reallocation will occur in the near future, notes BlackRock CEO Larry Fink. The ‘clean-growth century’ must be seized by mining companies, says Canada Natural Resources Minister Seamus O’Regan.

To me, it’s crystal clear that a just transition to a climate-positive future is the only route to take. Yet some in high office persist in standing obstinately in the way of what is a huge job-generating and cost-competitive opportunity that also promotes the common good.
