The biennial West African Mining and Power Exhibition (Wampex) presents West African businesses with an ideal opportunity to showcase products and services and could help even small-scale businesses gain access to major mining and power industry players, says Ghana-based pump supplier Sunbabsco executive director Emmanuel Sun-Kofi Opei.

“Wampex is the greatest place for us to showcase our best products and we believe that it will provide us with an opportunity to share our ideas with other stakeholders on how best to improve mining techniques in Africa,” states Sun-Kofi Opei, adding that this will be Sunbabsco’s first participation in a global gathering of this magnitude.

He tells Mining Weekly that Sunbabsco, which is the West African distributor for global pumps and valves manufacture ITT Goulds Pumps, will exhibit ITT Goulds’ products at the event, which will take place at the Accra International Conference Centre from May 28 to 30, in Ghana.

“We will showcase our solutions, which include dewatering pumps, with a focus on solutions for secondary biological treatment, as well as filtration and disinfection products for water and wastewater solutions, to the mining and power industries,” says Sun-Kofi Opei.

He further highlights ITT Goulds’ complete range of pumps, valves and control systems for the mining, oil and gas, chemicals, water and wastewater treatment, hydrocarbon-processing and power-generation industries, among other niche industrial applications.

“In addition, we manufacture and market pumps, systems and accessories that are suitable for residential, municipal and commercial water-use applications, including water wells, heating, ventilation and air-conditioning systems, pressure boosters, boiler controls and fire protection,” details Sun-Kofi Opei.

He highlights that Sunbabsco’s exhibition at Wampex will emphasise the importance of ITT Goulds’ products, as ITT Goulds is also the only manufacturer to make digital monitoring a standard on every process pump. “ITT Goulds continues to lead the industry in mechanical pump design and the integration of smart technologies,” concludes Sun-Kofi Opei.
