JOHANNESBURG (miningweekly.com) – London-listed Gem Diamonds recovered a 198 ct, white type IIa diamond from its Letšeng mine, in Lesotho, at the end of July.

Gem Diamonds said the exceptional white, high-quality diamond displayed no florescence and was expected to achieve a high price when sold later this year.

“The recovery of this large, high-quality white diamond continues to support the Letšeng mine's reputation as the most important source of exceptional quality, large diamonds,” CEO Clifford Elphick commented.
