PERTH (miningweekly.com) – Junior Gascoyne Resources has reported a 40% increase in the measured and indicated mineral resource at its Dalgaranga gold project, in Western Australia, following recent infill drilling.

The project’s mineral resource has grown to 25.7-million tonnes, at 1.4 g/t gold for 1.1-million ounces.

The new resource excludes recent extensions to the Gilbeys deposit to the south, where drilling is ongoing.

Gascoyne MD Mike Dunbar said, on Wednesday, that the updated resource estimate for the Gilbeys and Wings deposits represented a significant step forward for the Dalgaranga project.

“This increase in the resource confidence is a critical step for development of the project as it is expected to lead to an increase to the 442 000 ore reserve as part of the feasibility study.”

The new resource will form the basis of the feasibility study for Dalgaranga, which is scheduled for completion in the fourth quarter of this year.
