G7 Renewable Energies is a leading developer and independent power producer (IPP) of renewable energy projects in South Africa. The company was founded in 2008 by a team of experienced professionals who are passionate about renewable energy and its potential to help South Africa meet its energy needs sustainably.

G7 has a long track record of success in the renewable energy industry. As early as 2009, the company identified and secured various high-potential sites for wind energy projects by developing the ground-breaking Mesoscale Wind Atlas of South Africa, which was led by co-founder Dr Kilian Hagemann.

Since then, G7 has developed a large portfolio of renewable energy projects with a total capacity of more than 2 GW.

G7 is committed to providing its customers with reliable, affordable and sustainable energy. The company contributes to the creation of jobs whilst stimulating economic development in South Africa.

From Developer to IPP

G7 is dedicated to the development of renewable energy in South Africa. We are also committed to providing our customers with the best possible value for money and have accordingly expanded our portfolio to include operational IPPs for the private off-take market.

We contribute towards the UN’s Sustainable Development Goal 7: ensuring access to affordable, reliable, sustainable and modern energy for all. This is the inspiration for our name, and it is the driving force behind everything we do.

We have a proven track record of success, and we are committed to delivering high-quality, sustainable projects that meet the needs of our customers. We ensure the long-term viability of our pro-jects through our professional approach, expertise, integrity and innovation and a strong core value system.

We are proud to be a part of the solution to the energy crisis whilst building a better future for all.
