Company Announcement - Fraser Alexander have managed to secure the Glencore Group Discard and Handling Services contracts for Tweefontein Boschmans, Impunzi ATCOM, Impunzi ATC and Koornfontein Mine.

The size of the operation enabled Fraser Alexander to share resources and employ its in-house designed discard hauler and loader fleets; making it possible to be highly cost competitive.

FA has a proud and successful history of delivering without excuses outsourced services to Glencore for the last 20 years.  Mr William Till, Operations Manager, commented that this relationship and the understanding of what the client requires made it possible to create a win-win relationship for both parties. Of special importance to the Client is having a low risk partner, committed to supporting their Safety Objectives- in this regard FA BulkMech have just passed the 10 year LTI milestone at the Impunzi Operation.

FA is determined to build onto this already established relationship by using its values,

• Show care
• Earn trust
• Have passion
• Be brave

as cornerstones to ensure a world class service delivery during the next three years.  This is in line with FA’s vision statement of being “the preferred outsourcing mining services supplier in Africa”.

The approximate value of the work amounts to R 386 Mill over the next three years and will employ 145 people.  During the three year duration, FA will handle approximately 18.3 Million tons of discard and 7.6 Million tons of product.

Fraser Alexander’s, CEO, Mr Velile Nhlapo, stated that FA’s existence of over 100 years will enable the company to survive and grow in this highly uncertain economic climate that companies are facing.  He concluded by saying that he is excited to enter into possible future contracts of this nature with such a preferred and trusted partner as Glencore.
