PERTH (miningweekly.com) – Uranium miner Energy Resources of Australia (ERA) has reported a 17% quarter-on-quarter increase in production to 457 t of uranium oxide in the three months to September 30.

The miner reported on Tuesday that, while ore was sourced from existing stockpiles during the quarter, oxide production was positively impacted by a higher mill grade, recovery and ore milled, compared with the June quarter.

ERA produced 390 t uranium oxide in the June quarter, when output was impacted by the yearly mill shutdown to conduct preventive maintenance.

Meanwhile, rehabilitation work at the Ranger project area, in the Northern Territory, continued during the September quarter.

ERA in June abandoned plans for the Ranger 3 Deeps underground project, citing economic challenges and uncertain market conditions.
