TORONTO (miningweekly.com) - Vancouver-based Dynasty Metals & Mining has poured the first gold and silver at its new plant in Zaruma, Ecuador, the firm reported on Monday.
The bars poured contained about 10 kg of gold and 50 kg of silver.
All the sections of the plant have now been successfully commissioned and Dynasty said it will continue to optimise the plant operations by processing material mined while the mine declines are being developed.
Dynasty resumed work on the plant after Ecuador passed a new mining law in January, replacing the mandate that ordered a suspension of all mining and exploration work in the country last year.
Shares in the company rose 2,6% on Monday morning, to C$3,90 apiece by 10:17 in Toronto.
