TORONTO (miningweekly.com) – British Columbia-based emerging diamond producer Diamcor Mining has recovered two more special diamonds in the larger than 10.8 ct category from its flagship Krone-Endora at Venetia project, in South Africa’s Limpopo province.

Diamcor on Thursday said a 15.16 ct and a 13.38 ct diamond were recovered during first tests performed on processing the larger 12 mm to 28 mm size fraction stockpiled material through the expanded quarrying and in-field screening operations at the project.

“The recovery of additional diamonds of this size confirms the ability of the project to produce large diamonds and the potential positive impact the processing of larger size fractions can provide going forward.

“We will continue our testing and commissioning efforts on both the expanded quarrying and in-field screening operations, as well as the main processing plant, with the goal being the efficient processing of all size fractions in the long term,” president and CEO Dean Taylor said.

Diamcor last week sold 3 123.32 ct of rough diamonds at its second tender for total proceeds of $415 495.03, or an average of $133.03/ct.
