JOHANNESBURG (miningweekly.com) – Aim-listed African Potash appointed nonexecutive director Christopher Cleverly as executive chairperson, replacing Jean-Pierre Conrad, who is now a nonexecutive director.

Cleverly had also assumed the responsibilities of former CEO Edward Marlow, who remained on the board as a nonexecutive director.

Conrad said on Monday that the board was confident that Cleverly was well equipped to take over the stewardship of the development of the company’s flagship Lac Dinga project, in the Republic of Congo, in addition to the evaluation of additional opportunities in Africa.

“Chris is a highly distinguished individual with significant corporate experience and a wealth of regional expertise, which will provide invaluable support to African Potash as the board continues its ongoing discussions with potential strategic partners with regards to maximising the value of Lac Dinga,” he commented.
