Cabinda province, Angola.

Project Owner/s
Minbos Resources (85%). The balance is held by a local partner with a 15% carried interest.

Project Description
Minbos plans to mine phosphate rock from the Cácata Deposit and transport it to Porto de Caio, where a granulation plant will be built and operated at the industrial site to produce enhanced phosphate rock granules.

The fertiliser plant has been designed with an initial production capacity of 150 000 t/y and the capability to expand to up to 450 000 t/y.

The design includes the flexibility to produce different fertiliser products.

The project is expected to have a 21-year mine life.

Net Present Value/Internal Rate of Return
The project has an after-tax net present value of between $159-million and $260-million and an internal rate of return of between 40% and 58%, with a payback of about three years.

Capital Expenditure
The project has a preproduction capital expenditure estimate of between $22.4-million and $27.9-million.

Planned Start/End Date
Based on current estimates, commissioning is expected in the first half of 2023.

Latest Developments
The definitive feasibility study on the Cabinda project and project approvals are expected in the third quarter of this year.

Long-lead items have been ordered, with items to be shipped and construction expected to start in the third quarter of this year.
