PERTH (miningweekly.com) – Diversified miner BHP has announced the retirement of independent nonexecutive director Terry Bowen at the end of the company’s annual general meeting on November 1.

Bowen has accepted the role of president and COO of e-commerce technology company Rokt.

“I would like to thank Bowen for his significant contribution to the board and to value creation for BHP shareholders. Bowen’s deep financial, risk management, capital allocation and supply chain management experience has been highly valued by the BHP board and he has been committed to BHP’s ongoing success,” said chairperson Ken MacKenzie.

“Our approach to board succession planning is continuous and we will continue to apply a structured approach to ensure the board is fit for purpose and will provide an update on the succession of the risk and audit committee chair in due course,” he added.
