PERTH (miningweekly.com) – Robert Cole has resigned as MD of Beach Energy.

He has been on leave since August to attend to family matters in Perth and has decided that it was impossible for him to return to a full-time executive role in Adelaide.

While the board has waived the notice requirements under Cole’s employment contract, he would remain with Beach until October 14 to allow for an orderly transition.

Beach told shareholders on Wednesday that the company had started the process of finding a successor to Cole.

Neil Gibbins would continue as acting CEO until a new MD was appointed.
