PERTH (miningweekly.com) – Graphite miner Syrah Resources on Monday reported that the production improvement plan at its Balama graphite project, in Mozambique, was delivering strong results.
The miner said that graphite recoveries in November reached 74% following the restart of operations earlier that month, versus 53% in the third quarter of 2018, and 54% in September.
Production at Balama resumed on November 8, following an October fire at the primary classifier within the process plant.
The project remained on track to reach its full year production target of between 101 000 t and 106 000 t of concentrate.
