During the first half of 2014 Eickhoff Bergbautechnik GmbH (Eickhoff’s Mining Technology Division) obtained orders for additional 5 (five) shearer loaders from one of its key-customers Datong Coal Mine Group Co., Ltd. With these 5 (five) new Eickhoff SL 500 Datong´s fleet now increases to a total of 30 Eickhoff shearer loaders.
Since the very first Eickhoff shearer started cutting at Datong in 2002, Datong has been achieving new production records on a regular basis with this reliable and powerful, yet safe and economical shearer loader model. The Eickhoff SL 500 dominates with its 1.915 MW mid to high seam applications between 2.3m and 6.0m. For nearly two decades the Eickhoff SL 500 has been recognized as top cutting machine in international high performance longwall systems and has earned a reputation as workhorse with high availability and minimum downtimes. Owed to its remarkably great reliability, the Eickhoff SL 500 continues to be number one choice for longwall specialists in China and Russia. Operators value the characteristic Eickhoff underframe concept while owners
appreciate its profitability. Today, Datong is not only one of the major customers of Eickhoff but also one of the top five main coal producers in China. The purchase of additional 5 machines is further strengthening the role of the Datong Group.
Since its foundation in 1864 Eickhoff has been specialized in underground coal mining equipment. Today, Eickhoff is a successful German based global supplier of longwall shearers and continuous miners celebrating its 150th anniversary.
