New Mineral Resources Minister Mosebenzi Zwane last week undertook his maiden mine visit as a member of Cabinet. His choice was to call on the Doornkop gold mine, west of Johannesburg. Shadowing the Minister in this picture is Graham Briggs, CEO of Harmony Gold, which owns the historic Doornkop that occupies an area where the botched Jameson Raid on Paul Kruger’s Transvaal Republic ended nearly 120 years ago.
