PERTH (miningweekly.com) – Gold developer Wiluna Mining Corporation on Wednesday said that it was targeting a full ramp-up of production of 120 000 oz/y at its Wiluna operation, in Western Australia, by the end of 2022.

The Stage 1 750 000 t/y flotation plant was some 54% complete and mine development was some 35% complete, the ASX-listed miner told shareholders.

Underground operations are ramping up, with Wiluna’s focus remaining on securing short-term production and cash flow from the Golden Age orebody, and to continue the progressive rehabilitation of existing access and infrastructure to establish the initial stoping production areas for the start of concentrate production for Stage 1 of the operation.

Mining operations at the Bulletin and Happy Jack mines were also progressing well, Wiluna said on Wednesday, with infrastructure upgrades under way.

Meanwhile, the company noted that the feasibly study for the Stage 2 operation, which would increase flotation plant capacity to 1.5-million tonnes a year, was progressing well.

The feasibility study is planned for completion at the end of 2021.
