As South Africa faces a third Covid-19 wave, it’s crucial that we don’t let down our guard, despite the fact that we are all extremely tired of living under ongoing restrictions. For now, mask wearing, physical distancing and hand hygiene remain our best defence ahead of a mass vaccination campaign. That said, we must not allow any surge in infections to further delay efforts to rapidly scale up the country’s already delayed vaccination effort.
