PERTH (mininweekly.com) – The Western Australian government is launching a new online platform that promotes investment-ready projects with a value above A$10-million.

Launching with more than 35 projects that had a combined value of approximately $6 billion, WA Investments provided global audiences easy access to the huge investment opportunities available in Western Australia, said Deputy Premier and Minister for State Development, Jobs and Trade Roger Cook.

Investors from around the world will be guided to the type of opportunities they are interested in and supported to contact investment proponents. The online platform highlights Western Australia's strengths as an investment destination, including its advanced industries, abundant resources, robust consumer economy and state finances.

"Through the establishment of Invest and Trade Western Australia in 2019, the government has taken a very proactive approach to attracting investment and promoting trade opportunities in our state,” Cook said.

"WA Investments will complement the work of Invest and Trade Western Australia, which includes an extensive network of global offices, to further promote and highlight investment-ready projects aligned to the State's priority sectors.

"We know how important international investment is to Western Australia's ongoing prosperity. It creates and sustains new jobs and drives economic growth and diversification.

"Launching an online platform like WA Investments is not possible without industry engagement. We look forward to continuing to partner with the Chamber of Commerce and Industry WA (CCIWA) to promote investment opportunities from across the state."

WA Investments is a collaborative partnership between CCIWA and Invest and Trade Western Australia. Through this partnership, CCIWA's International Trade and Investment Centre will develop, implement and maintain the digital platform while Invest and Trade Western Australia will continue to service requests from investors seeking information and support on investment opportunities.

In addition to projects in advanced manufacturing and infrastructure, WA Investments focuses on the eight priority sectors outlined in the state government's economic development framework, Diversify WA - energy; tourism, events and creative industries; international education; defence industries; mining and mining equipment, technology and services; space industries; health and medical life sciences; and primary industries.
