Whether justified or not, the trend of suspending State-owned company (SoC) executives is nevertheless unsettling. The latest SoC afflicted is embattled oil company PetroSA, where it was finally confirmed that CEO Nosizwe Nokwe-Macamo and CFO Lindiwe Bakoro had been placed on “precautionary suspension”, with Andrew Dippenaar having accepted his fate earlier in the month with less resistance. Will it be a further case of adding opacity to confusion with the extension of yet another series of golden handshakes?
