The recent bombing by the US military of a Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF) hospital, in Kunduz, Afghanistan, can surely not be justified. MSF is correct to demand an independent investigation of what it views as a war crime. After more than 30 minutes of bombing, 12 MSF staff members and 10 patients, including three children, were dead.
