PERTH (miningweekly.com) – ASX-listed Mineral Commodities (MRC) on Wednesday announced that operations at the Tormin mineral sands operation, in South Africa, would resume from April 13.

The operation was placed on care and maintenance on March 26 as part of a nation-wide lockdown in response to the Covid-19 pandemic.

MRC told shareholders that the full impact on the company’s supply chain and offtake business was still being assessed, however, MRC expected normal trading conditions to be back in place shortly after the reinstatement of mining and processing operations.

Since the start of operations at Tormin in 2014, MRC has mined more than 9.7-million tonnes of mineral sands.
