Taseko’s Gibraltar GM named MABC mining person of the year

The Mining Association of British Columbia (MABC) has named Richard Tremblay, VP and general manager at Taseko’s Gibraltar mine, as the 2018 Mining Person of the Year.

The 2018 award honours Tremblay’s dedication and leadership within the industry, advancing research, management and community outreach.

After 26 years in the British Columbia mining sector, Tremblay has an in-depth knowledge of the industry, from managing large sites with over 1 200 employees, to lending his voice on behalf of industry on mine permitting policies, stakeholder engagement and First Nations consultation.

Taseko is the 75%-owner and operator of the openpit copper/molybdenum Gibraltar mine.
