PERTH (miningweekly.com) – Graphite producer Syrah Resources has declared commercial production at its Balama project, in Mozambique.
“The declaration of commercial production represents a key milestone for Syrah, reflecting the significantly improved production consistency and strong recovery improvements,” said Syrah MD and CEO Shaun Verner.
The Balama project produced 33 000 t of natural graphite in the fourth quarter of 2018, and 104 000 t in the full 2018, with commercial production having been met from January 1, 2019.
