During the spring of 2020 in South Africa, the trees and flowers were not the only places where new life began to show again after the winter as Strata Mining Services was given a new breath of life and new brand-new visual identity as well.
Although Strata Mining Services started trading in December of 2018, the company was presented with the wonderful privilege of accepting the responsibility of serving a group of new customers who required mining equipment solutions. This was a welcome relief after the impact that the global pandemic has had on industries worldwide.
To ensure that this wonderful group of customers continued with their expected services seamlessly, a new team was brought into the company with the intention of not only ensuring continuity and familiarity with customers and their expectations, but to breathe new young vibrant life into Strata Mining Services.
“Our team of professionals is thoroughly committed to customer satisfaction and to ensuring that the service levels promised are upheld, and also where additional solutions are required that our response time is fast and effective”, says Chrisna Basson, Managing Director.
Chrisna goes on to explain that the team, although young and energetic, have collective experience of over 50 years in the supply of mining equipment solutions. Chrisna herself comes with considerable human capital experience, coupled with sales and operational hands-on experience.
Says Chrisna: “It is simply not enough to just want to please a customer, we need to ensure that we are constantly analysing their operation to see where we can help save money and reduce risks, even if that means fewer people and fewer machines.”
Strata Mining Services is 51% black owned and the shareholders are an integral part of the business interaction with teams on site and seeing customers. The other major shareholder is Gawie Vermaak, also well-known and respected in the mining industry in South Africa and co-owner of Phakamisa Hard Rock Mining.
The combination of the connection with Phakamisa Hard Rock Mining, the empowerment partners and Gawie Vermaak allows the experienced and passionate team at Strata Mining Services to provide unique services, which include pit to port mining solutions in the opencast mining industry. The welcome presence and blend of youth and well experienced business individuals provides Strata with a very powerful platform from which promises can be made and upheld.
Strata’s services include road transport, mine load and haul, stockpile management, crushing, screening, overburden management and basic mine rehabilitation.
