The South African Reserve Bank (SARB) today mourns the passing of former President Nelson Rolihlahla Mandela.
The country has lost a much loved icon who inspired the nation to unite, overcome adversity and create a common identity. The memory of our first democratically elected President reflects our pride and aspirations as a nation. He touched the lives of millions of people and will be sorely missed.
The SARB expresses sincere condolences to his wife Mrs Graca Machel and the entire Mandela family.
