Mining software solutions and services provider MICROMINE Africa will launch the latest versions of its mining operations and geological data solutions, Pitram 2015 and Geobank Mobile 2, at this year’s Investing in African Mining Indaba, which will take place at the Cape Town International Convention Centre from February 9 to 12.

“Our attendance at the event will enable us to educate the mining industry about our latest products, which ensures that the message is spread far and wide, considering the high volumes of delegates that are expected to attend,” says MICROMINE customer services manager Craig Peek.

He tells Mining Weekly that the company’s stand at the event will be manned by knowledgeable consultants.

Aimed at meeting clients’ functional requirements, MICROMINE’s suite of “intuitive, innovative and affordable” software solutions span the entire mining process – from geological exploration and three-dimensional (3D) mine design to mine-production software solutions.

Peek says MICROMINE is always keen on attending the Mining Indaba, as it is “the largest and most successful conference on MICROMINE’s events calendar”.

Pertinent Issues
In addition to the usual issues facing the African mining sector, including falling commodity prices, and labour and environment protection issues, which will be discussed at the Mining Indaba, MICROMINE will highlight the importance of implementing software solutions to derive full value from mining and exploration projects and ensure operational success.

“The African mining industry should embrace technology to make operations a success from data management, 3D orebody modelling and mine design, as well as mine optimisation and control perspectives.”

Return on Investment
MICROMINE has always received a lucrative return on investment from attending the Investing in African Mining Indaba, as key decision-makers with buying power also attend the event.

“The event has resulted in more sales for our African office as companies tend to invest in the software packages for their operations after witnessing the possible value that our solutions can add,” says Peek.

He adds that the event has, for the past five years, proved to be the perfect platform for MICROMINE to advance its business.

The company’s solutions help mining companies capture, manage, visualise and understand data, as well as report on mine production.

Peek says the company is the only mining software developer that provides relevant solutions for every stage of the mining process, enabling clients to source all their software and consulting needs through a single vendor.
