Sodiam to host a rough diamond tender

Angolan State diamond marketing company Sodiam plans to hold a rough diamond tender in Luanda, Angola, with viewings to take place between October 24 and November 14 at Sodiam’s offices.

The online-only bid submission will end on November 15 at 10:00, with the sale exclusively targeting Sodiam-registered customers that have a proven expertise in large diamonds.

The tendered lots will include 43 single diamonds.

Of the diamonds on offer, seven “exceptional” diamonds weighing more than 10.8 ct were produced at the Lulo mine. This includes a 170.2 ct pink-coloured diamond – the Lulo Rose, as well as three diamonds weighing between 112 ct and 160 ct and another three weighing between 45 ct and 65 ct.

Twenty-seven “exceptional” diamonds recovered at the Catoca mine, including a 104.70 ct diamond, as well as several baskets of diamonds ranging between 20 ct and 40 ct, will also be on offer.

Nine diamonds, each weighing between 20 ct and 40 ct and produced at the Luele mine, will also be available.
