TSX-V-listed Sienna Resources has started a 1 000 m drill programme on its flagship Slättberg project, in Sweden.

The project contains platinum-group metals (PGMs), nickel and copper mineralisation that remains open at depth and along strike, as determined by Sienna’s two prior drilling campaigns on the project in 2018 and 2019.

“We have gained significant knowledge of the property and have methodically progressed to this stage of drilling. We have the highest priority drill targets now set and we are optimistic how this drill programme will turn out.

“When we drilled in the fall of 2019, we had a weak and declining market whereas this time around the market is significantly more buoyant and trending positive at a time of historically high commodity prices,” Sienna president Jason Gigliotti says.

The Slättberg project is based in an historic mining camp, with at least 16 historic mines in the area.

Sienna has also acquired the Kuusamo PGMs/nickel/copper/cobalt project, in Finland, and will start will initial work programmes soon.

The company partnered with NYSE-listed EMX Royalty Corporation on both these projects. EMX has a track record of success in exploration discovery, royalty generation and strategic investments.
