GLOVE SOLUTIONS AFRICA Hand injuries are still the main injury sustained by mineworkers on site

South Africa-based gloves specialist Glove Solutions Africa (GSA) will showcase its full range of Advanced Technology Gloves (ATG) and Mec-Dex gloves – for which it is the exclusive supply partner in Africa – at the West African Mining and Power Exhibition (Wampex), which will take place at the Accra International Conference Centre, in Ghana, from May 28 to 30.

GSA owner Eddie Tee tells Mining Weekly that the company prioritises safety and that the glove ranges on display at Wampex ensure the safety of mineworkers while increasing productivity through reduced hand fatigue and increased dexterity.

“With most companies still registering hand injuries as their number one on-site injury, GSA gloves offer the best comfort, breathability and durability, thus ensuring that mineworkers wear gloves, in compliance with health and safety regulations, thereby reducing the number and severity of hand injuries on site,” he explains.

Tee tells Mining Weekly that GSA will exhibit at stand RG23 and looks forward to meeting with current and future customers.

“The ATG glove range is well known worldwide as a range that offers truly unique features and benefits such as improved fit, dexterity, breathability and durability. “The range protects mineworkers’ hands from abrasions, cuts, punctures and chemical spills, as well as extreme hot and cold temperatures.

“Meanwhile, the Mec-Dex range is better known for protection against impact and pinch injuries. “The range is particularly suited to the oil and gas industry. “Our products are widely accepted in mining sectors worldwide and we believe that West Africa can also benefit from the features that the glove ranges offer,” concludes Tee.
