Rio Tinto’s Chisholm takes up MAC position

Carolyn Chisholm

Rio Tinto Canada general manager for external affairs, Carolyn Chisholm, has been elected as chairperson of the Mining Association of Canada (MAC) for a two-year term.

She replaced Hudbay Minerals VP for corporate social responsibility David Clarry, who served as chairperson from June 2021 to June 2023.

Chisholm comes to her new role with extensive familiarity with the industry and MAC, having been a participant in numerous working groups over the past several years.

"We are delighted to have Carolyn assume this leadership position at MAC," said president and CEO Pierre Gratton.

"Her dedication to the sector, both through her work at Rio Tinto Canada and vast experience with our association through her extensive committee work, makes her extremely well suited to tackle the challenges and opportunities ahead."
