PERTH (miningweekly.com) – Gold hopeful Red Mountain Mining has inked land access agreements over its Koonenberry gold project, in New South Wales.

Land access agreements are required with local landholders prior to any exploration groundwork being undertaken in New South Wales, with Red Mountain telling shareholders that delays in achieving this milestone had been owing to tracking down pastoralists who had been moving between remote stations not connected by modern communications.

The junior company said on Tuesday that with the land access agreements now signed, the company would undertake initial project reconnaissance and sampling around old mine workings, and would conduct a geophysical survey to locate main structures and possibly jogs.

A subsequent soil sampling programme will also be undertaken over the remaining, unsampled parts of the tenure.
