The share price of ASX-listed junior Pure Resources surged 41% on Tuesday, as the company announced early results from outrcrop mapping and sampling completed at the Järkvissle project, in Sweden.

Chairperson Patric Glovac commented that early results indicated a highly prospective area for the discovery of LCT pegmatites.

The reconnaissance mapping discovered the extensive presence of highly fractionated muscovite-rich pegmatites with LIBS analysis successfully conforming the presence of pathfinder minerals triphylite-lithiophilite, cassiterite and potentially zinnwaldite.

“With the identification common pathfinder elements and highly elevated lithium in mica contents, we are confident that with further work there is potentially an exciting discovery in front of us,” he said.

A peak LIBS assay from a triphylite-lithiophilite sample returned a result of 11.69% lithium. Together, with the observed high to very-high rubidium content in K-feldspar and muscovite as well as of several occurrences of pathfinder minerals, the company is excited by the discovery potential of the Järkvissle reservation.

Glovac said that Pure looked forward to planning and executing the next phases of exploration in search for Scandinavia’s next spodumene discovery.
